Submission for the Planet Jam #01

Theme: One Button

Your friend Vera set you up for a blind date, and understandably, you're pretty anxious about it. When you see her enter the diner, you can't help but notice her blouse is buttoned up the wrong way. Good luck keeping that from distracting you!

Use the mouse to look around, your date will notice where you're looking at, so keep that in mind! If you get distracted, you may find your view slowly drifting towards that button, so don't let it happen! Use the numbers on your keyboard to select your dialogue options, but that's not all! Once you've selected it, you have to mash the space bar to speak your desired option! This takes a lot of your mental energy, so if you find your gaze approaching that button and want to regain focus, you'll probably just stutter, and we don't want that!

Good luck on your date, tiger!

Due to time constraints. there are no Game Over screens. You'll just have to awkwardly close the browser tab, like you would awkwardly leave a date.

Keep an eye out for the post-jam patch! A lot of new features on the way!

You really have to MASH the button otherwise it don't even go above 10% and
it works so inconsistently..... some times you can go up by doing some clicks but if you fail a milisecond it goes down to 0 again and it doesnt help that you have to keep the eyes from moving, i only got to the third event and said, nope i'm not doing this. maybe it's a browser thing?

First of all, thank you for playing!

That being said, sorry! I was able to submit the game with 2 minutes to spare, so sadly no testing could be done.

Having to mash space bar was intended to be annoying, but I may have gone a little overboard. Also, when you mash the button, you can't move the mouse, if you move the mouse while mashing the space bar, the inputs will not register (this was intended as a way to put pressure on the player, so they have to mash fast enough to be able to recenter their view before it drifts too much). I should have explained this better, but again, I didn't have enough time. All of these issues, along with others, will be addressed in a post-jam patch. Plus, more art is also on the way.

I hope once the update releases, you may be able to give my game another chance!

well it's understandable tho, also i did understand the moving the mouse thing, and i see It fine as It is, but the speed of clicking is too insane right now

Also i did notice that you can keep the bar still if you keep pressing space

Another thing, i also said It was inconsistente because you can like REALLY mash the space bar and get nothing, but you can also do like: double tap, keep pressing, double tap super quikly again and you keep going Up little by little, but you have to be very fast because if you are not the bar goes down super quickly

Also good luck fixing things!

And yep i'll try It again when the post jam ver si realeased

Huh, that's weird. Maybe it IS a browser thing? What browser are you using? I'll have to do more testing with other browsers. That being said, I also plan on releasing desktop builds.

And thank you!

I'm using firefox

Weird, I'm using Firefox too. I'll look into it as soon as I have more time.

Oh, yeah. This was submitted as part of a game jam. I just realized you posted this on the game's page instead of the jam's submission page, so maybe you're not coming from the jam. Sorry!

Yeeee i was just lurking on itch and found the game
